We are beginning some exciting things in our classroom this week.
1. Math- we are starting AREA and PERIMETER. This is something the kids usually love because it uses multiplication and it also allows them to use all sorts of manipulatives.
2. Reading- we will be exploring the difference between literal and non-literal language this week. An example of non-literal language would be, "It's raining cats and dogs." The kids usually love this area because it can get silly, but it can also be very enlightening too!
3. Social Studies- We will be continuing to learn about Frederick Douglass, one of our American Heroes. the students will be performing a small play, Scenes from the Life of Frederick Doug;lass at the end of the week. Hopefully I will be able to post the video of the performance. This website doesn't seem to like videos, so keep your fingers crossed!
4. Writing- we will be continuing to learn to write about Informational reading selections this week.
