Parents/Guardians,
We are 2 days away from a much needed break and 4 school days away from Georgia Milestone. Time is flying by so quickly.
There is important information coming home in your students Thursday folder about preparing for the test. Please read over it. Also, if you are wanting to write a note for your student to open up before testing begins, please submit that to me by 4/12. I will accept an email note; I can print this off for you if needed.
Here's what we've been doing in the class this week:
Reading:
* Comparing and contrasting themes, settings, and plots of stories written by the same author about the same or similar characters.
*Our author is Tomie dePaola.
*Using POPular songs such as Happy and Mean as a test review.
*Reading passages and answering comprehension questions.
Math:
*Measurement: time and volume
*Students were given a Measurement booklet to review the concepts of measurement; this is a great tool for the students to prepare for the test.
Writing:
*Prompt to write a narrative
*Comparing two text to write an informational
Science:
*Magnets
*Heat
Social Studies:
*Caser Chavez
Take a look at last weeks blog to view what supplies are needed in the classroom. With testing coming up, it's vital we have more pencils. If you can donate, we will be appreciative.
Thanks for the support,
Ms. Metzger
